2024-2025 Booster Board

The Booster Board is made up of dedicated parent volunteers whose primary goal is to raise funds, provide financial assistance, and offer moral support to the band, percussion, and color guard programs, while promoting music and fine arts education. They work closely with the band director and support students by helping with logistics, chaperoning, and fundraising efforts. Etiwanda Bands and Color Guard Boosters is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

President: The President sets agendas, runs meetings, supports board members, and oversees committees. They speak at events, represent the parents and boosters, and often communicate with parents to answer questions and address concerns. The President works closely with the Treasurer and Secretary and should have knowledge of Robert's Rules of Order. The President only votes in the event of a tie.

Vice President: The Vice President assists the President in their responsibilities and prepares to assume the role of President the following year. They support committees, assist chairpersons with organizing events and tasks, and ensure smooth operations across the board. The Vice President also fills in for the President when needed.

Treasurer: The Treasurer collects payments for Fair Share, clothing, trips, and fundraisers. They prepare petty cash, work cash boxes at events, and handle bank deposits. The Treasurer maintains accurate financial records, prepares financial reports, and communicates with the counting chairperson. They also manage student accounts, process donations, and work with the data entry clerk to produce monthly financial statements for the Executive Committee and general membership.

Secretary: The Secretary takes detailed notes at meetings and distributes minutes to board members before subsequent meetings. They send weekly updates via email, direct parent inquiries to the appropriate board member, and coordinate written communication to program members via email and the Band app.

VP of Chaperones: The VP of Chaperones schedules parent volunteers for events and ensures necessary supplies, such as medical kits and spare clothing, are prepared for travel. They serve as the primary liaison between parent volunteers and the band director during trips, prioritizing the safety and well-being of students.

VP of Logistics: The VP of Logistics coordinates the transportation needs for the band, including arranging bus rentals, securing drivers, and managing the logistics for local and overnight trips. They work closely with the Band Director to ensure that all transportation details are handled efficiently, including communication with parents and volunteers.

VP of Operations: The VP of Operations oversees the preparation, maintenance, and transportation of equipment and props for rehearsals and performances. They manage a team of volunteers to load and transport equipment and work with the Band Director on competition itineraries. This role also includes prop construction and coordination with the Pit Crew to move equipment on and off the field.

VP of Percussion: The VP of Percussion serves as a liaison between the percussion program and the booster board. They communicate important information to the board and engage percussion parents to support team needs. The VP works closely with the percussion coaches and provides necessary assistance, ensuring effective communication with parents to support the percussion students.

VP of Clothing: The VP of Clothing leads a committee responsible for sizing students for marching band and color guard uniforms and coordinating any necessary alterations. They manage the ordering of MER clothing and shoes, organize Fan Gear sales, track inventory, and work with the Treasurer to maintain a profit and loss statement for sales.

Chairperson: Chairpersons rotate in chairing our events throughout the year, such as the Show & Tell, Pancake Breakfast, Parent Preview, and competition show meals. Each Chairperson forms a team of non-board members to plan and execute various events, fundraisers, concert sales, snack bars, and other projects. These roles are perfect introductory positions and are less time-demanding than other board positions, focusing specifically on commitments to specific events.

Yearbook Coordinator: The Yearbook Coordinator leads a committee to create the annual MER yearbook, documenting the year’s events with photos and stories. They ensure photographers are present at key events and use digital tools to design and produce the 50-page yearbook to commemorate the year.

Assistant Yearbook: The Assistant Yearbook Coordinator supports the Yearbook Coordinator by helping to gather photos, organize content, and assist with the production of the yearbook. They collaborate with photographers and volunteers to ensure all events are well-documented throughout the season.

Assistant Treasurer: The Assistant Treasurer supports the Treasurer by counting deposits, assisting with bank deposits, and helping to pay invoices. They also work cash boxes at events and help manage the P.O. Box. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records.

Assistant Chaperone: The Assistant Chaperone helps the VP of Chaperones coordinate parent volunteers and ensures necessary supplies, like medical kits, are ready for trips. They assist in supervising students and serve as a liaison between volunteers, students, and the band director.

Assistant Clothing: The Assistant Clothing Coordinator helps the VP of Clothing with uniform fittings, alterations, and managing the inventory of marching band and color guard uniforms. They also assist with organizing clothing orders and supporting the sale of fan gear.

Medical Aid: The Medical Aid must have a medical background and travels with the band to provide first aid to students during trips and events. They manage medications, respond to medical emergencies, and ensure the health and safety of students throughout the season.

Social Media Coordinator: The Social Media Coordinator manages the band’s online presence by creating and sharing updates, announcements, and event information across social media platforms. They collaborate with board members to promote events, fundraisers, and achievements, ensuring timely and accurate communication with the community.

Spirit Store Coordinator: The Spirit Store Coordinator manages the inventory of fan gear and oversees the Spirit Store. They build a team of volunteers to assist with sales and setup at events. The role includes tracking stock and coordinating with the Treasurer to maintain accurate records of sales.

Counting Chairperson: The Counting Chairperson works with the Treasurer to collect deposits and maintain accurate financial records. They lead a team to count funds collected during sales and fundraisers and provide deposit records to the data entry clerk for tracking.

Scrip Coordinator: The Scrip Coordinator manages the year-round Scrip fundraiser, ensuring that all aspects of the program run smoothly and that participants receive timely communication. They also handle orders and distribution for the fundraiser.
